What the Hell?, rants, speaking my mind, this blog

Holy Cow! I’ve Been Delinked!

If for one minute you thought that the cyber world was not reality, consider this your reality check. Evidently it is possible to piss people off in cyberspace.  Yes, things even get catty in the world of blogging. Can you believe it?!

Apparently I have angered someone enough with my posts to provoke a de-linking. Yes, folks, de-linking. I’ve been delinked! Boo-hoo, sniffle, sniffle… sob! Let me explain. Picture this.  I write a post. You read my post. I piss you off with my post without intending to do so. Instead of just leaving comments defending your opinion or even anonymously justifying actions on my hypothetical character’s behalf, you remove my link from your blog page in protest.  End of story.  OOOOKay!

There’s something so truly adolescent about such behavior, that it races me back in time to High School.  A sincere “thanks” for the trip down memory lane, but no thanks.  If I needed to remember my teen years, I’d just walk to the end of my road. My high school is there. I can “run through the halls of my high school” and “scream at the top of my lungs”,  hang out with the teachers who I also once taught with and find my old lockers should I choose to. I’d rather not. But now that I have been washed back into the teen world, compliments of a wave of immaturity, let me continue with this completely boring yet blog worthy subject.

I offer my most sincere apologies. I am so sorry that your feelings have been hurt and that you have taken offense to my writing.  Sincerely, I am. But the truth is the truth.  If you can’t handle that, again, I am sorry. I promise to use kid gloves in the future. For writing and posting things the way they have presented themselves to me, however, I have no regrets. I offer no retractions.  That’s my prerogative.  On my blog, I’m the author and well, I haven’t posted names to embarrass anyone.  If you are secretly embarrassed by your own actions, that is your own personal problem to deal with in the privacy of your own little world or on your own little blog, as you have. I had no idea that you were taking blogging so seriously.  There’s more to life than that. Go out and find it, please. Don’t let such pettiness rule it over your life. It would be a damn shame.

Life is one huge joke.  Humor is the key to happiness. Maybe you should check out Mrs. Flinger. She’s got it down pat.  Poking fun of life and it’s little idiosyncrasies in a blog is a joke as well. It’s humor. Not reality. Even if, at times, it is powerful.  If you take all this so seriously, what comes next? How will you make it through real life?   I am concerned for you.

So let me share some self-help advice. I have always been taught that truth comes to each of us from God through others in many different ways. Sometimes yelling, sometimes laughing, other times crying, in a whisper or even in silence.  Add to that bit of biblical wisdom the maxim that “what goes around comes around.” Together the two are a  recipe for authentic maturity. If one discovers some bit of truth about oneself in what another person writes or says, one is wise to take it as it comes, acknowledge one’s failings, learn from it, laugh about it, and move on.  Any other approach is sheer ignorance.
