Ah, bliss. Fix that wonderful comfort-food supper, pop it in the oven, set the kitchen timer to one hour and forget it… NOT! For in every corner of your home lurks the ever-curious, ever-creative, ever-intelligent preschool Princess!
The engineers at the cooking appliance company certainly didn’t see this clever baby coming when they designed that handy little lever at the front of the oven meant to lock it for self-cleaning!
It turns out that since my tiny trouble maker didn’t push it all the way, the oven shut down to something like “warm”. No cooking. No cleaning. Hell, I’d have been just as happy if it had worked, the meatloaf may have been ruined, but at least the oven would be clean.
Needless to say, last Wednesday night’s dinner was an hour late.

Oh man……..
little fingers!
My worst dinner error I ever made was not due to little fingers. I put 3 pounds of meat in a crock pot and didn’t plug it in. 12 hours later the meat was ruined and we had no dinner. Now I check the crock pot several times during the day to make sure it is on and doing it’s job!
OH Yeah… there was the time that Preschool Princess pulled the plug on my slowcooker too! Ha. My kid has all appliances, large and small, covered!
