Flaunt It Friday: A Few of Your Favorite Things

04.11.08 | 8 Comments

Back by not-so-popular demand, Flaunt It Friday is here to tempt you into sharing A Few of your Favorite Things. If you have never participated in this meme before, please, take a moment to review past posts here. I thought I’d give it another try to see if the challenge has potential for resurrection or is just plain dead. So if ever there were a time to participate it’s this fine Friday.

Okay, ladies, today we are Flaunting our Favorite things. Let’s keep it to five. How about the things that you might have trouble living without, or, at least, the things that you would miss if they were to go missing tomorrow. People and pets don’t count. At the risk of seeming materialistic (which we all know none of us is) let’s keep it to THINGS. Hell, we might even provide each other with some new thing addictions.

Don’t forget to link back to this page in your own post and to add a linky here so we can all snoop. Happy Flaunting!

Here are five of my favorite things. I could not do without these… seriously. Okay, maybe I could, but it’d be tough.

My Favorite Something to Sleep With: our Tempurpedic Mattress. This was our first major purchase as a married couple and the best purchase we have ever made, together or on our own.  I cannot even tell you how many times we remind ourselves of that, especially after a long and tiring day.  I actually hate travelling because I miss my bed that much! If ever you find yourself ready to invest in a new mattress, go all the way and get yourself one of these babies. You will never regret it!

My Favorite Something to Wake With: my Melitta Single Cup Coffee Maker. My mom got this for me soon after the birth of our first daughter, Princess. Being the only coffee drinker in our house (Hubby sometimes dabbles, but rarely) this has made my life so much easier and saved so much coffee you can’t even imagine. It forces me to be conscious of how much coffee I drink, as I can’t just distractedly pour myself cup after cup. If you are trying to break a caffeine addiction you should definitely try one of these. The fact that the pods can be pricey is also an added coffee deterrent. But beware. A fresh cup of coffee every time can be tempting.

My Favorite Something to Groom With: my darling, ever trusty Maxius Maxiglide. I purchased this one sometime after my style outgrew that “first-baby-chop-off-all-my-hair” phase. Been there? I don’t usually impulse buy, especially when watching the shopping channels, but darn it, I was convinced. If it could straighten ethnic hair before my eyes it was sure to tame my wavy/curly mane. That and the “30 day money back no questions asked from the shopping channel” guarantee sealed the deal. I love this thing. And yes, it does work. Seriously.

My Favorite Something to Cook With: (okay, technically to chop and slice with) my set of Cutco Knives. Hubby turned me on to these when he purchased them as a truly unconventional birthday gift about five years back. Yes, at first I would have preferred jewelry, but damn these things turned out to be jems themselves: amazing and worth every penny!  They are like no other knife you’ve ever used.  I was simply beside myself when we moved a year ago and we misplaced these for a month or two. Be careful with them, though. Once you use one, you will throw away every other knife you own and become helplessly addicted.

My Favorite Something to Work With: our Brother All-In-One MultiFunction Center. Some years ago we let loose with a huge ”heeeeell No!” to ink-jet and old style fax machines, and upgraded with this little laser baby. Printing any other way is simply not printing!  It suits all our copy/fax/scan/print needs and has come in handy not just for the business, but for all of our personal business as well. We’ve had it for four years and had to replace the toner only once, and boy, do we use this baby alot!  I like to call it “ol’ reliable”.

So there you have it. Some of my favorites. Now it’s your turn!!!!!!
