What exactly do Popeye and Flaunt It Friday have in common? Allow me to explain.

I woke this morning to the seriously disturbing sound of Hubby playing an episode of Popeye on Youtube to the girls’ early morning delight. While this comes of very little surprise, as he has been singing his brothers’ own perverted version of the theme song* since we had spinach last week, I am somewhat confused. Is this is the same conspiracy-theory, ranting and raving lunatic who protests us even having a TV for the girls’ use? The same ding-dong who has a problem with them watching “too much Noggin?” Hmmmmm.
Dora (Drama Queen “wuvs Dorwa”), Diego, Little Bill and Little Bear, Franklin and the like just don’t cut it. But strangely enough, somehow in Hubby’s world Popeye fits the bill. OMG! If ever a sick and violent cartoon there was, Popeye is it! And how do we even begin to address questions about this extra virgin Olive Oil, playing two guys at once and caring for Sweet Pea who may or may not even be hers? Hmmmmm? And this works for Hubby!? Ha!
Needless to say, I had one huge laugh fest with my coffee by the time the episode was over and done with. Hubby’s explanation? He was trying to get the song straight in his own mind. Great. In the meantime, Drama Queen and Princess are sticking with the perverted version:
*I’m Popeye the sailor man.
I live in a garbage can.
I eat all the worms
And spit out the germs.
I’m Popeye the sailor man!
OH. I almost forgot! This week’s Flaunt It Friday is all about your favorite childhood TV show! A little trip down memory lane to finish off the week.

P.S. to Hubby: thanks for two day’s posts!!!!
LOL! At least his version is relatively “clean”. I won’t tell you the version of “Joy to the world” that my sister made up about my other sister.
My daughter recently got in to the BBC version of Robin Hood. I won’t repeat my hubby’s childhood version of the theme songs. Let’s just say it involved some very merry men.
[…] Yes, ladies, let’s have a chat and perhaps a laugh or two about your favorite childhood shows. Hubby’s Popeye shenanigans are entirely to blame, so feel free to pin the ridiculousness of it all on […]
