Expressions Of A Drama Queen: Girlfriends & Pee-pee

If you thought that the play-doh messes at themommykelly household were bad during early pregnancy, try to imagine what they are right about now!

Just the other day the girls busied themselves executing an early-morning play-doh disaster as I read email and tried to compose a blog post or two. After about ten attempts at “please, clean up” I decided to get a little uppity and go ghetto on the children.

themommykelly (from the bathroom - clearly hiding from the mess - to Princess): “Clean up that play-doh!”

Princess: “NO!”

themommykelly: “Oh, you’d best be cleaning up that mess unless you’d like to see all that play-doh get dumped into the garbage, girlfriend!”

Drama Queen (aka Mama’s shadow - even in the bathroom): “Mama, Princess not a girlfriend! Princess is Princess!”

Later on the three of us still garbed in our nighttime attire, lay on my bed, yet unmade mid-morning, while I listened to the drying sounds of play-doh on the kitchen floor and tried to muster up the energy to “help” the little darlings clean it up. Princess doodled happily, creating another masterpiece of our family as a family of ants, remembering every body part in detail. Drama Queen observed as she sucked down a sippy cup of milk, preparing her commentary.

Princess (with a half grin & eyes lit up with the delight that only a four year old about to say something inappropriate can concoct): “Whoops! I almost forgot the belly buttons and the coolies (culotto- in italian)”

themommykelly (watching Princess carefully add butt cracks to the drawing): “Oh, my, you can’t forget those!”

Princess (sitting back to observe her handiwork): “There. Now we are just the perfect family of people.”

Drama Queen (noisily slurping that final sip of milk & unsuctioning her mouth from the cup to add her two cents): “Yeah. We are purwfeck family of pee-pees!”
