This summer we’ve been enjoying visits nearly everyday from this Mama and her babies (all three)! I have yet to get a decent shot of the four together without disturbing their late afternoon nibbling. (Even this shot with one baby is questionable.) As an accomplished hostess, I so want to make them feel comfortable in our luscious green backyard.
I am honored that the Doe feels safe enough here to let her fawn run free on our property. They do so gravitate toward the sandbox! I suppose anyone who is really “into” planting would be furious. Fortunately, I haven’t a green thumb on either hand, so I am able to sit back and enjoy the view, weeds, overgrown grass and all!

Wow how beautiful
and I’m glad you said how honoured you feel, it’s what I feel whenever I see a magical piece of nature while DH wonders what the heck I’m pointing at.
Oh, we love our dear deer too! I can’t get close enough to take a picture - they seem to be able to hear me while I’m still in the house at the window! But I did take pictures of the stems they left behind on what used to be a hosta! Maybe I’ll post them next WW!
Sooo cute! What a great shot of the little one.
fuck the possibilty of ticks. they are beautiful creatures!!
How cute! I wish I was close enough to woods like that to have deer in my backyard! What a great shot!
I just had the perfect shot of our visitors, Mama and ALL THREE fawns about two minutes ago… until the girls started banging on the window, that is! Ugh.
You should have seen all three of them trying to nurse at once! Amazing. I didn’t even know that deer could have three fawn in one shot.
Yes, Lisa, f the possibility of ticks. They are too beautiful and peaceful to not enjoy!
Love the fawn. What a peaceful pic!
I bet that’s fun to watch…. beats seeing them upclose on the road.
awwwwwwwwww how cool to be visited by them.
