This post comes from my cousin, NikkiAngel. Let’s give her some comment love! I know that this topic is certainly a thought provoker for me. How about you? I’ll bet she’ll have her own blog going in no time! Thanks, Darling!
HEY LADIES!!!! Okay. I wrote one blog post for my cousin who asked for some help and who would have thought I would be hooked..I didn’t actually believe I would be interested in venting to strangers…but I like it! NO, I love it!
What topic today??? There are so many to choose from on a daily basis but heck can I think of one of them now??? I would like to share a wonderful quote that I read the other day and it should be given to all women, not men, because quite frankly I don’t think they think much past, get up, shower, work, eat, shower, maybe some sex if they are lucky and then sleep again. So here it is:
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurtities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day.
You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” - Emerson
That is so right so very right. I’m telling you, we should learn this as children. Can you imagine (at least I do) all the needless, senseless worry or regret that we have over the small blunders, not like, you know, you steal a fur coat from the store kinda blunder, but a regret of any kind, self beating up over what you should have said or would have said or shouldn’t have said? I mean, really girls, lets face it Emerson knew what he was talking about.
Letting things go and starting each new day fresh is a wonderful concept. It gives us another chance to start our days without regret or worry and with “too high a spirit” for things to get us down. I have this quote (which you an get in magnet form on allposters.comfor like 7 bucks) in my bathroom by my mirror, by my affirmations, which I try to read each night before I go to bed. I have affirmations for my child too. I figure get that stuff started early and avoid some therapy bills..kidding…but why not promote a wonderful self image early on? I mean heck this world will try and beat you down, but if your heart and mind are confident and strong then you are ahead of the game and the earlier you learn this the better off you are. They say that girls get there body image confidence from their mothers so ladies look at yourselves when your daughters are in earshot and say “I love the way I look, I love my body and my face and my hair. I just love me!” and while you are at it make sure you are listening too!

Love it! Now just have to remember that=)
Oh wow! If this isn’t true! Thanks for this advice! I’ll be posting some affirmations for teens on my blog soon! But I’ll definitely consider some new ones for myself!
This is so very true. Well spoken! I LOVE that quote by Emerson. It’s something to definately live by. I needed this reminder because I’m one of those people who constantly get on myself for all my mistakes. Ugh.
Very inspiring - now if I can just put it into practice…
