  Last Friday, being the nut that I am, I took the girls along to run some errands. $200.00 for new rocker-glider cushions? I think not. $15.00 at the nearest fabric retailer and a few hours of elbow grease? Hell yes. So off to UPS and Walmart it was, Mama and the ducklings in tow. Since we couldn't get out of the house before 11:30am, it was half past lunchtime before we had finished. In view of potential meltdowns, I also purchased a box of Entenmann's chocolate-chip cookies.   In spite of her recent teething issues, our two-year-old Drama Queen has managed to keep her sense of humor. There isn't a day that goes by that this munchkin doesn't have me laughing.  Here's her most recent one liner during a diaper change. Drama Queen (holding the teeny-tiny doll from nesting doll set): "this is from Princess, Mama!" themommykelly:"Actually, Baby, that's from Omi and Opi (her paternal grandparents)." Drama Queen:"From OmiOpi?! Oh, yeaaaaah! No! It from MamaDada!" themommykelly:  "From MamaDada?! No, silly." brief pause of mommy silence and toddler whining... themommykelly:(deciding to drag out the conversation in the hopes of finishing the diaper change without incident)"Who's your Mama?"   Another Barroom, I Mean Dedbroom Brawl

  I love how much my children love me. The depth of their affection is truly touching, even at 3:24 am.   That’s what time Drama Queen and Princess began last night’s barroom, I mean, dedbroom, I mean bedroom brawl. Yes. 3.2.4.A.M.! The scenario is typical.  Drama Queen, sufficiently sobered up from her nighttime shake of organic milk and Ovaltine, decides that she is going to squeeze her cutie little pamper-garbed-culotto in right between her older sister and Mama.   As we rung in the New Year with a day of complete and utter laziness, ordering out for supper on the First was an absolute must.  Since the girls had eaten but a short time before our favorite Thai delivery guy rang the bell, Hubby and I dug in, certain that the rug rats were quite full. That would have been way too easy!  Within moments of my first bite of pad Thai, Princess and Drama Queen stomped into the room, prepared to investigate our meal in the most thorough of manners.  Scaling their chairs with monkeylike skill, the darlings ...

  You are going to just love this one... themommykelly: (once again trying to force feed the Drama Queen meat) “Come on, Sweet Pea, have some num, num. It’s yummy!” Drama Queen: (standing in a chair at the table, laughing in my face) Ha! No! themommykelly: “It’s sooooo good, baby. Look. Mommy is eating it. Ummmm!” Drama Queen: (now half-lying on the table to avoid the spoon) “No dooooooown’t!” themommykelly: “Come on, Sweet Pea. Let’s eat dinner.   Expressions of a Drama Queen: Her First Complete Sentence

  Drama Queen, our twenty-one month old darling has been blurting out commands like a champ for some time now.  It wasn't until last Thursday, however, that the little darling formed her first grammatically correct complete sentence (****beaming with pride, here****). The girls and I were assembled at the table enjoying the food that Hubby was still out working to put on the table.  We've always got to encourage Drama Queen to eat meat.  She dislikes it quite strongly, be it beef, poultry or pork, that little vegetarian. In fact, it's about the only thing that she pretty much refuses to eat.  As I always do, fearful ...
